With movable concrete walls and metal shutters, this house transforms into an impregnable fortress without visible doors and windows, providing a safe refuge against threats like nuclear war, climate changes, or even a hypothetical zombie apocalypse.
Surrounded by an imposing 2-meter-high concrete wall, the Safe House stands out as a massive monolith.
Its sliding outer walls and sturdy aluminum gate, supplied by a specialized shipyard, bolster the security and isolation from the outside world.
This construction was envisioned for clients whose “top priority was to achieve the maximum sense of security in their future home,” according to information on the website of the architecture firm KWK Promes.
One innovative highlight of the property is a drawbridge leading to a terrace above the pool, combining medieval defense elements with modern luxury.
When the walls and shutters are retracted, the structure reveals a modern residence, contradicting its initial appearance of concrete block and steel. Additionally, the house is equipped with two-meter-high electronic sliding walls, offering an additional layer of protection.
For security and architecture enthusiasts who value privacy and protection above all, the Safe House is a notable example of how modern design can be adapted to face the challenges and fears of the contemporary world.
Even in as extreme a scenario as a zombie apocalypse, this house promises to be a sanctuary of security and tranquility.
